Hello,
im trying to using 2 hd4890 in crossfire however its something ive never done and have a few questions.

First is about the bridge how many do i need? i notice the cards have space for 2 but they did not come with any. My old motherboard came with one and im hoping my new board when it arrives will have another. am i ment to use both? just find it odd they do not come with them.

Seconed question is about software install should i intall one card then drivers, power down install second card and reboot? or put both in and install drivers?

thrid question, is there anything i have to do in the crystal software to get them in crossfire?

like i said im total noob at this. if anyone could help it would be much appreciated
Thanks

you only need 1 birdge, you can use two.

also you only need to install the ATI software ONCE, ATI use the same drivers across the board. well unless they got new gen out which starts at 9-10

also don't install the once from CD get them from AMD themselfs

Actually on my 2 xfi 4890's .........

Adding a second bridge raised some benchies (mad onions)

And another weird thing, changing which card in xfire runs the monitor (only one monitor myself) raises benchies too

Go figure !!

Ohh don't think in high percentage terms, i'm on about increasing benchies by several numbers not a real noticable percentage increase

And also remember the drivers i guess were earlier drivers, can't rem offhand ones before 9.7 but would have been before these ones

My 2p worth

To OP, some games you have to wait for xfire support, but you could try renaming the .exe shortcut etc to a known xfired game which should allow xfire to work somewhat

Have Fun
