hey everyone, im building a new pc to use throughout uni doing a games design course. so i will be using programs like 3ds max, unreal editor ect. and also some major gaming including upcoming games like bf3 and skyrim. im on a budget on around £500-£600.
ive shopped around and looked at parts i need, i just need someone in the know to guide me in the right direction, any advice is welcome.

AMD Phenom II X6 Black Edition 1090T 3.2GHz
Asus m5a97 AM3+ socket, maybe the m5a99x because of sli. (i chose this socket as it supports bulldozer cpus which i can upgrade to later on.)
asus 550 Ti 1gb
500w power supply (good make such as corsair/ocz)
1TB Sata HD
DVD-RW

i just want to know if this seems a decent build, and will i get to play my games with nice framerates?
thankyou:)

i plan to use win 7 home, i would like to know if this build seems ok, and any alternatives to the parts ive chosen, do i have a good cpu? gpu ect.

and i thought about intel, but with them always changing sockets and what not it doesnt give me much long term benefits, as AMD's am3+ socket will.

may sound dumb but why is this so bad?

also thanks to everyone for your input, it helps a lot. im going to see if i can get win7 with a student card. and yeah i will need a new case, but seen some decent ones for £40. and i think i will be going for the i5 now, i just thought the X6 will be better for 3d max work, im sure i read about it somewhere...
