Can anyone help?

I know the title is vague, but I'm hoping that by not being specific, as many people as possible will read this thread.

It turns out that I get my love of writing from my Father. I never in a million years expected to find out that despite his lack of knowledge of punctuation and spelling, he is really good at writing short stories.

He's written a short story about Megan, and it would make an excellent children's book. We'd like to either get it published, or even just get it made into a proper book as a one off to share with the family.

Is there anyone out there who works in or knows anyone who works in publishing and knows how we would go about getting this done? And is there anyone who has a knack for illustrations?

My Dad doesnt know that we're looking into getting it published, we'll tell him if/when we get somewhere.
