can anyone ID this drink

I just had a memory of this drink my nan used to buy. It was a thick sort of spicey fruit non-alcoholic punch. It came in a wine bottle and made vague claims of medicinal benefits and I think and there was some sort of monk/church connection.

The buckfast thread reminded me of it but I cant remember the name of it. It was quite delicious!

I want to say it was called "merry mead" but cant find anything on google.

No it wasnt scottish I think it might have even been local thing to the east anglia area. I dont remember ever seeing it in shops I have no idea where she got it from.

There is a drink called Mead, but it is alcoholic and made from honey and water.
It is quite an old drink and I think has some relation to monesteries.
