Can anyone improve this PC build???

You add a pea sized blob to the cpu and then it spreads itself apparently?

Thats right, unless the base of a heatsink looks like this,
base-s.jpg

You would be better doing a thin line across the heatpipes from left to right in that pic.

seems you either missed my suggestion or prefer the nvidia, but I'll put it out there again.

what about 2x 6950? more power for not much more £'s.

oh and if you're getting the corsair watercooling 'thingy' may as well save £10 and get the oem version of the i2500k.

Hi fowler002,

Sorry i did take your suggestion into account, but I will likely be going to go for SLI 580's in the future hence why im not looking for any older cards.

The problem i see with OEM's is for the extra £10 i get an extra 2 year warranty.. I'm not sure but i think its worth it?

Also, with my Motherboard & Cooler i should be able to get my Processor over 4.5 ghz safely right? and does it void my warranty if i do overclock it?

Thanks!

Yes+ you get a heatsink and box if you want to sell the chip o in the future

4.5 will be simple with that, the warranty is voided but they wont be able to tell

Thanks!

Thanks mate!

I suppose it will be worthwhile with the extra warranty, although i will probably just buy the Ivy bridge when they get released lol.

6950 being older than the 580? thats news to me ;)

slower yes, older no(as far as I'm aware the 6950/6970 and the 580/570 came out about the same time.

get one of these unlock shader(flick switch), oc and sit back and enjoy close to gtx580 performance with over £100 in your pocket(or put it towards the extreme7 mb/crucial m4 ssd).
but in the end its upto you.
