Can anyone make me a VTF file please?

Just spent the last half hour installing programs and arsing around trying to do it but I'm just not having any joy.

Anyway, I want this gif making into a VTF file please for TF2...

Infact I can't show it cos it's rude.

because I want to do this....

Making a GIF into a texture is quite a bit of work so you may need to do it yourself using the Source SDK. It'll require some effort but it's the only way unless there is a program out there that will do it all for you.

First you need to get extract all the frames from the GIF (you'll have to figure that out) and save them as TGA naming them 'spray001.tga', 'spray002.tga', 'spray003.tga', etc. Next, place the files in [where ever steam is installed]\Steam\steamapps\[username]\sourcesdk_content\tf\materialsrc and create a txt file called 'spray.txt'. Put this in the file and save it.

"endframe" "[thelastframenumber]"

Finally, open folder [where ever steam is installed]\Steam\steamapps\[username]\sourcesdk\bin\orangebox\bin and drag the text file onto 'vtex.exe'. With any luck when you select your spray ingame it'll do the rest... I hope. Otherwise you'll have to set up a VMT file which is a load more work. :p

Not sure if you can do animated and fading gifs?
