I suffer from Chronic Fatigue Syndrome so i'm only able to cope with a very light exercise which pretty much means walking and nothing else. The area I live in is not a nice place to go for a walk so i'd like to get a compact folding treadmill (I dont have a lot of space) so I can regiment my exercise precisely. £200 would be my absolute max budget and after looking on Tesco and Argos etc my concern is that they might all be too small. I'm 6 foot 2 and have size 10 feet and i dont want to waste my money on something that wont be unsuitable.

Thanks

decent gym equipment isn't cheap. for £200 the best thing you could buy is a pair of trainers and go outside for a walk.

to give you an example. semi decent treadmills have a starting price of around £2K. second hand £800-£900.

£200 is going to get you some cheap piece of rubbish from argos not fit for purpose.

shame, my mum gave hers away last month and it cost her several hundred quid originally so would have been a good one

While you can certainly get an OK treadmill for less than 2K (probably nearer the 1K if you are not doing serious training on it), Psycho's point is valid I and I wound't waste 200 quid on a piece of cheap Chinese junk. Put the money into decent runnign shoes and go for a walk outside and build up to some gentle jogs.

ideally you want to be running on grass over pavement or road. grass is soft and therefore your knees won't be knackered in years to come. a park or some open grass nearby, even better if there is a public field (rugby or football) nearby to run around.

With chronic fatigue running is a no-no, it really is only gentle walking that I can do. I've been looking on gumtree and there are a few going for £250 that were £500+ when new so i might take a punt on one of them. Given that I will only be walking on it I dont need a proper fancy and 100% robust treadmill.
