£1500 to spend. I already have 1 x 120 gb ssd with windows 10 installed on it..monitor and keyboard and mouse.

Purely for gaming on my rog pg27 144hz + gsync monitor.

As small as possible. Thanks

If you wait for inflated prices on Coffee Lake to settle, you'll have about £60 for a cooler.

Not sure what sort of additional storage you're after so added a 500GB SSD for games.

If that case is acceptable, PSU has to be 140mm max depth and GPU max 280mm length. Cooler 165mm tall.

Case says micro-ATX but is really micro-ATX/mini-ITX hybrid. It will only take a few micro-ATX boards with smaller than official micro-ATX dimensions.

Or a Ryzen build, since the Intel v AMD difference isn't as pronounced at 1440p res:

Note that a Ryzen 1700 isn't really needed if you're not streaming/game capturing, rendering etc. Just fits the budget. A 1600 would be more than ample for gaming @ 1440p. But if you really want all the frames possible in more games for that 144Hz monitor, then go with Intel.

The 1TB HDD isn't great, a 500GB SSD would be better, but that would be way out of budget.

Chosen the AIO to give you better overclocks on the 8600k.

I like the case you've used more than the Kolink in my spec. It's about 8cm longer but would pick it instead rather than trying for even smaller. Also allows for longer GPUs. Better cooling etc.

Yeah I mean we could recommend OP something absolutely tiny like https://www.overclockers.co.uk/dan-cases-a4-sfx-v2-mini-itx-gaming-case-black-ca-000-da.html

But then you make so many sacrifices for certain parts, and spend so much extra for the case itself that it isn't worth in the end.

Fair play to you guys...theres abit to think about . I wasnt sure if 550w would be enough to power a gtx 1080. But looks like it can.

How do you think gaming laptops power them? Most have a sub 300W power supply for 1080s.

At 550w, you're on the verge of being able to run two in SLI.

Should i buy now or wait 2 weeks for black friday?
Most of the items are quite well priced, especially the PSU, case and RAM.

The CPU is about £30 more expensive than it should be. Prices for that CPU will likely remain high until early next year when stock levels improve.

You could shop around right now to get the total cost down further. Just from having a quick look, the CPU cooler is £5 cheaper elsewhere, the GPU is £15 cheaper and the CPU can be found for £10 cheaper - it would all add up.

Pure ITX size from @K888D lazer3d cases

The GTX 1070 mini is a place holder on Ryzen build, as Gigabyte have released the 1080 version which is out now. Should be stocked here soon - but might take you over budget

Ryzen version
Gigabytes £40 cheaper non WiFi board is out of stock which could find gtx 1080 mini

My basket at Overclockers UK:

(includes shipping: £23.10)

Like for like cores are solid and i5 has slight edge in gaming but 1080 would be the better choice

Nice build...the options on that case are crazy...

It has to be as small as possible as the wife dictates what goes into the bedroom . When my minitor came she presumed that it was the actual pc as the box was huge.... her words were "that aint going un there mate" .... i replied with "wana bet love".... then she gave me the look...so here i am trying to buy something small..

Haha, I have a dual build going on but luckily wife doesn't mind and I get my toddler son to help

If you've got the time to read

I think there is a full thread somewhere as well for the case. Seems you can have custom panels done before or afterwards aswell who h is good. Version for small DC power brick to allow AIO to.
Gigabyte gtx 1080 mini in there and you'd be flying !
Think that's one of the 3 smallest itx factor solid and smallest with internal SFX unit
