Can anyone tell me if this is the drain hole for my Fridge Freezer

That tube is just a black rubber tube which goes into an small open white tray at the back of the fridge freezer, on top of the compressor. It can be cleaned with a pipe cleaner safely, but sensibly.

Thanks for your reply darael. There is a small opening at the bottom of the unit with what appears to be a black rubber cap with a slotted end. Logically that's where this drain exits as you say. But what I cant figure is why even pushing a wire coat hanger down that hole doesnt budge anything. It just sounds like more it's scraping against plastic. Are you speaking from experience of this fridge freezer?

I do speak from experience, yes - I have practically the same fridge freezer and had to personally unblock the drain hole with a long pipe cleaner last year. I say unblock, but it was just a small piece. But it was enough to cause a puddle on the floor under the fridge freezer when it was defrosting.

I think the end of the pipe that goes into the white did look slotted now I think about it. But it's weird how you mention scraping against plastic. Maybe the pipe has come away or has been torn? Was the tray dry?

Thanks Again darael. Well after reading your post I tried again and this time pushed a lot harder and out came a big lump if silver paper. I've no idea how it got in there. I've never been to that part of the unit before. But is that why the freezer was running to cold? That hole was blocked with a lump of ice But why would that cause it to be so cold. Even on the lowest setting food on the bottom of the fridge froze solid.

Honestly, I have no idea what the silver you found is or removing it will fix your problem. Just give it a try for a few days. If it doesn't work, treat yourself to a new fridge freezer. :D
