Over the last few days I've had a bee trying to crawl into one of these on my house.

As we live close to open fields I didn't know if it could be a problem with them nesting.

Not sure to be honest, just googled mason bees and they seem very alike.

Really didn't want a bee nest by the back door of my house. might get a small nest box I can put down the bottom of the garden.

They're weep holes and it'll be Masonary Bees trying to get inside of them.

I Googled this at the weekend because I spotted the things crawling into the holes of our new build house! Apparantely one way to stop them is to put mesh over the tubes but I have no idea we even have!

I did read that one way to persuade them not to go into the weep holes is to put a "bug hotel" near the holes. We have one at the other end of the garden and my partner suggested putting mini signs pointing to the hotel which awaits them.

It's not really a "bee nest" in the normal sense - they are solitary. It's one bee :p

I've noticed a couple of these going into the wall of our extension as well. I was going to put some ant powder in the holes until I read they were harmless.
