It looks like it could be Virgin cabling. That or a splitter from a roof aerial.

Its either some old analogue Telewest/NTL connection or roof aerial as said.

its a TV/FM isolator

i believe its a surge protection device, to protect anything attached to it.

Yeah it's from the era when Cable & Wireless ran the UK's CATV network. We had the exact same thing fitted about 12 years ago.

Its an isolator that was fitted by ntl or as in the picture cable and wireless.

It serves exactly the same purpose as any normal Virgin Media isolator providing it is in working condition.

The FM outlet will no longer work as i believe the analogue got turned off countrywide now

If you want broadband fitting there then the only thing that would be needed is for the isolator to be replaced for the current version and a new cover. Also it needs to be connected to the outside
