Hi all,

Can anyone understand this as it's baffling me. I have 4 Zmodo WIFI cams around the house, they have always connected to an SSID that is spread across a few 2.4ghz Devolo access points/router.

I consolidated and bought a Ubiquiti AC Lite, called it the same SSID as before and removed all Devolo AP's and disabled WIFI on my router.

3 cams work fine. 1 doesn't. They are all exactly the same cameras. I cannot get the camera to be recognised by Unifi at all. I thought the camera had just broke but enabling the routers SSID again, it connects to that fine?!

Can anyone work it out? I have created some test SSID's on the UniFi using different security methods but the camera will only connect to the router!

How far is the camera compared to the others to the Unifi as well as the router? Have you tried manually selecting a channel on the Unifi?

That was my first assumption, range despite having an Airplay speaker sat next to it and also my phone had 3 bar according to the UniFi when stood near the camera.

When you say manually selecting a channel, what do you mean?

Cheers

Sorry misunderstood, yes just tried a channel change and still nothing. Just to re-iterate there are two cameras upstairs, a long way away from the one I'm trying to get working.

I had a similar issue. It was due to the default security settings in the AP, I think the unfi defaults to WPA2 and AES encryption. You may need to set these to auto. Maybe your camera's have got different firmware on.

Move camera next to AP for testing.
Upgrade firmware on camera.

What camera is it?

Yep, I did move it for testing. Camera has the same firmware as the others that work, the latest.

The camera is a Zmodo IXD1D-WAC.

As a work around I've just enabled WIFI on the router and have the camera connected to that.

I have found another offending item that won't connect, my other PS4 will not connect wireless stating "the security method might not be correct". The password is 100% correct.

My PS4 Pro that is in the same room connects fine via WIFI though...arrrgh!
