Can Apple stores do upgrades?

Aren't the iMac processors are soldered in place? You can't upgrade them. The 2.8ghz version are CTO one's, you'd probably have to get them to order you one in.

I understand you want the 1gb ram, 320gb hdd with the 2.8 ghz processor instead? This is not possible because processor upgrades are not done in store. However call the store and ask what options are available but you can do every thing you want in store online, discount (if you apply) etc...

Surely, even if they did change the CPU then it'd be a 2 day turnaround as it requires a massacre of the machine.

You're better off buying the 2.8 model and waiting. Its a killer though, I know.

Yeah, I'm only after the 2.8 w/1Gb and 320Gb HDD

I was looking today and if you upgrade the 'lower' 24" iMac to the same speac as the 'upper' one, it actually comes out at the same price.

I think i'm going to be buying tomorrow online in the big one day event thing.
