Can a case cause damage to motherboard? If they contact? Didn't install ,other board correctly with screws correctly, and it cause motherboard to crash seems fine now though

Its not something I've seen personally, but who knows. I recently had to help a relative who built his first system. It wasn't booting as he'd forgot to use standoffs. Once that was sorted it worked fine and has done since.

It could damage it, don't do it..

When installing a motherboard I sketch the holes on a scrap of paper, then make sure the right ones are in.

Now half tighten each screw, once they are all in, gently tighten them all up. This ensures you get a straight fit.
