Can DLSS introduce a bottleneck?

E.g

My setup bottlenecked at 1440p due to 3700x. Runs fine at 4k due to no bottleneck, however for example FS2020 I can see applying DLSS halved the GPU usage.

So in theory the bottleneck is been introduced?

DLSS uses a lower resolution to produce the source render which can introduce a CPU bottleneck - but at worst you'd only lose around 3-4% of the performance you'd get rendering at that lower resolution without DLSS. Potentially if Tensor core operations took more time than the frame processing time you might encounter a bottleneck there as well but that is a somewhat less common situation.

it does not bottleneck mate, this game is just not optimized.
