Be grateful if someone can can answer this, I'm looking at adding a second monitor to my desk to go along side my Shimian 1440P, going to be adding a Dell UltraSharp 'Slim' U2414H 1080P.

Would it be possible to output to the 1440P screen via dual link DVI and the 1080P screen via HDMI or Display Port, so that simultaneously one screen could be web browsing while the other is playing a movie etc?

Cheers guys.

^^ This is awesome, do you guys game on the 1440P or 1080P screens?

Thinking switching to 1080P might be good for some of the more demanding games. Main reason for adding the second screen is for productivity (Working on PC, more screen real estate for web stuff, reading whilst watching movies etc, I love to multi task :p, but also I can play PS4 in native resolution on the 1080P screen. My Shimian only has 1 x Dual Link DVI port, so nothing else can be plugged in, second screen will fix that and all the other stuff. I thought second screens weren't that common tbh, maybe they are.

I game on the 144Hz screen (set as primary so the games start up on it automatically).

If I want to watch a movie/youtube/mod these forums I can drag that window over (and maximise/fullscreen) to the ASUS 1440P which is a PLS panel so nicer colours etc.

You can tell they are at different Hz just on the desktop, move the mouse across from one to the other and the difference in smoothness of the 144Hz is obvious just by looking at the mouse pointer.

Depends how I feel. Sometimes I run the Asus monitor at it's native res of 1080p 120Hz other times at 1440p 120Hz custom res via the Nvidia control panel.

This is awesome :D So I can set my 1080P Dell screen as 'primary' use it for gaming on PC and the other 1440P screen can be used for web browsing and movies etc, and drag things between the screens!? For a relatively small cost this will be a hell of an upgrade in terms of real estate and options. Being able to have the PS4 plugged in natively on the 1080P IPS will be nice, and a TV tuner as well, I love multi tasking lol, once it's setup I'll probably wonder why I didn't do this sooner. I really thought dual screens weren't that popular but seems a few here use two. Just hope it looks ok when it's all setup.

Some games don't like being minimized to be able to take the mouse over to the other screen and say look at the forums.

But BF4 does, so if im dead or its a loading screen, just drag the mouse over to the browser window have a look around/do something/reply to a post, then go back to the game and resume.

That looks awesome to me mate :)

Quite excited about this lol. Screen is due to arrive tomorrow, looking forward to getting it all setup, fingers crossed no dead pixels and that it doesn't all look crap when setup :p

I think it will look good though, your setup looks nice to me. Roll on delivery..

Got it setup !!

Screen looks great so far, haven't noticed any dead pixels or ghosting in gaming, really weird having two screens on desk at once lol.

Got the keyboard / mouse in front of the small screen, other screen for movies etc, kids are watching stuff on that one while I'm on the web, pretty cool setup.

Noticed on the PS4 the black levels /contrast / colors etc looked awesome and when on PC it looked washed out, Googled it and apparently Nvidia has a weird bug with HDMI and Display Port showing the proper RGB color range, found this vid that fixed the issue, will link below in case anyone else has same issue. Picture is quite stunning now, really surprised for a relatively cheap monitor. PC and PS4 look awesome.

Fix here,

Been running dual screens for a few days now, really happy with it. Nice having more screen real estate. PS4 looks great on the 1080P, got my 1440P screen set as primary for PC gaming and 1080P IPS for PS4 and watching movies etc, I love multitasking and this makes it much better / easier. Thanks for the replies guys.
