Can I ask a Display Driver question in here!?

Hi all, I recently asked about an alternative driver for my MOBILE ATI 9600 chip on my ASUS laptop.

It installed fine and has loads of options, but when I drag a window across the screen it stutters.....and when I scroll up and down these fine forums with the mouse wheel, it stutters like my mum and dads 8mb GCard!!

It cant even run the Flurry Screensave God Dammit!!

They are the Omega 3.8.252 drivers.

Can anyone help!?

Totally remove the driver using Control Panel>Add/Remove, restart and install it again.

^ Yeah sounds like its still in software mode, when you don't have any drivers installed.

Dont fully understand, sorry.

Its listed in Device Manager, as in, no exclamation mark or anything!

do add/remove in control panel for the driver, and right click it in device manager and choose uninstall

download new driver and install again

what res were you running at?

might run crap unless its at optimum resolution?..

OK, wasnt entirely sure how this would solve the problem, but I've done what you said.

Uninstalled the drivers through add/remove, then went into Device Manager and disabled it. Restarted the laptop and ran the exe file again. But the same problem is still there....

Frustrated tbh!

OK Weird. I've not changed anything and its now working fine...confused! :confused:
