Which makes the whole thing very tiresome, there are lots of competitions like this on the net and lots of people trying toscam votes, imagine everyone on OcUK deciding to cash in their standing on the forum by getting lots of people to vote for them. How many pointless events do you want to take part in and how many of these threads are you willing to tolerate? I'm pretty sure I noticed a don raise an eyebrow in this thread too.
My actual problem with stuff like this is the using of other people and events to garner sympathy. In this case dead dog, absent wife - not a nice thing to deal with but on a scale of things I've seen happen to some guys on this forum, pretty average, where I lose sympathy is when people use this to gain something.
Say someone lost their daughter, how would you feel about them using that event to garner sympathy and win an iPad. Doesn't that then start to get a little creepy?
Agreed, he got a click from my fake Facebook account yesterday, doesn't mean I can't point out why I don't like seeing spam like this. Or maybe you thought I wouldn't vote for him
