Can I ask to unlock my phone after 12 months?

I've searched but can't find where I heard this from (I swear it was from these forums)... I have an old D500 from my Orange contract, but have since upgraded from it. Now that I've 'paid off' the phone, i.e. been on the contract for >12 months, will Orange let me have an unlock code (for free?). I'm sure I read this somewhere...

They normally want to charge you around £30. There is a code you can get to unlock the D500 though.

he d500 is an easy phone to unlock. Go to nokiafree.org and have a look on the samsung forum for the code.

Msn'd him the code its to new for it to work.

get a clip for it off ebay, they cost £5, an unlock the handset
