Hi, I'd like to order my computer today with the below spec, only thing is the motherboard I origonally looked at is on preorder and would like one that is in stock, the one I looked at was the

do I want to? I'm not sure, will be my first time, guessing getting a board that allows me to will be mroe expensive, I suppose it would be good to have the option but if its too expensive it doesn't matter
 
Well, if you're going to overclock everyone is recommending the Gigabyte DS3/DS4 boards for the Allendales. And 50% overclocks seem to be fairly easy to achieve. The boards are a bit more expensive though, the DS3 is about £30 more.

If you don't want to overclock I would just look at what features you want as the rest of the boards are all much the same at stock. The only difference being things like number of SATA ports, Firewire, onboard sound that sort of thing.

Great thanks, the DS3 is fine price wise, could somebody just confirm that it works with everything else I've got with it?
