Can I build a decent system for about £500, which can be up-gradable?

Hi all,

new to this forum, and in need of a new computer and thought I could get more "bang for my buck" through building myself, but not sure exactly what I should include in my basket, so would appreciate help from you experts please :D

I am not a gamer, but my PC is on for 18 hours per day, every day (boot up first thing @ 6.30am, close down last thing 10.30pm...) I use it mainly for web development and use photoshop, dreamweaver plus work with video quite a bit too.

If I were looking at a new branded PC I would look at the following spec

Intel i7 processor @3.1Ghz or above
16Gb Ram
1TB HDD, but I also saw a video where you can run windows from an SSD drive, which would make it run pretty fast, so that would be an option for an optional extra?

Other than that, I am a bit stuck as to what else I would need, so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Drop the SSD down to 120GB and the PSU down as 550w will never be used.
For now I'd drop the heatsink as well and grab a Raijinrek direct contact in the future when you want to overclock.
