Can I legally buy windows in say USA and use it in the UK legally?

Small business server in the USA is $1100 whereas here it's £1100.

I refuse to be shafted in this way if avoidable, any comments?

Only read an article in a popular cheapy computer mag the other month and they were actually telling people to buy Vista in the USA as the pound is so strong against the dollar .... the only thing you have to watch for esp. when spending the sort of money your talking about is the VAT when bringing it back into the UK.

Legal in terms of the licence, although as has been said, it will be subject to import VAT @ 17.5%

Unless you put the ISO image of the install media on your laptop and email your self the licence key.

Yeah VAT isn't a problem, I can get my cousin to buy it and ship the COA and ftp me the data cds.

Edit - also companies don't pay VAT.

with importing vista i think you will not be offered any tech support either unless you are using it within the region you purchased the goods from.

I don't see there being a problem with importing software... I've never done it myself though.
