I have a 22" monitor, which has one DVI and VGA input. Would I be able to connect my 360 to this as well as my PC?

Its just that I may have "sharing" issues with the main tele :D

Got my xbox 360 with VGA cable a few days ago, you get a choice of resolutions you can choose, highest is 1920x1080, 1280x720 and their are other versions for 5:4, 19:9, 16:10.

i use 1280x720 on my 1680x1050 monitor and it looks great, audio jacks plug into my amplifier. i would also go for the official microsoft product. its what i went for and i recommend it.

S'cuse the Hijack :)

Is there something i can get to plug both my system & my sexbox into so i don't have to keep swapping them over ?
Also how much are these official VGA cables & how much better than a standard TV compared to my Mitsubishi Diamond Pro 930SB ?
Cheers :)

Official VGA cables can be had for about £17. seem second hand cable for £12 on MM.

A KVM switch?

The MS cable is about £15. Used to use a standard TV for the 360 a while back, but using the VGA cable on monitor brought games to life - it looks amazing tbh.

^^ Am sold :D
Cheers Dude, I only needed a gentle shove

Googling KVM's is Scarey, they look expensive, Is there a Cheaper way ?

Personally i just have both cables plugged in (in my case the VGA cable from the 360 and the DVI cable from my gfx card) and use the on screen menu on the monitor to change the input source - takes 3 button presses.

If i use the HD TV downstairs you change the input source via the remote .

best thing also with the offical cable u get the jack plug connector to go onto the phono leads, can then plug into pc soundcard.... also picture is a lot better than the cheaper 1`s

Depends what the native res of your monitor is (if its a TFT).

Just select that in the 360 dash, or the closest one possible.

You should only scale once. If none of the resolutions match your screen then choose 720p (1280*720) as it's the native resolution of pretty much all 360 games and only your monitor will do any scaling.

1280x768 looks better than 720p (to me anyway) on my 1440x900 native res monitor.
