Can I copy windows desktop setup to another PC?

Hi guys,

I've just set up the desktop to my Win 8 HTPC downstairs and was wondering if there was an easy way to copy the format to the Win 8 HTPC I have upstairs... is this possible?

If the hardware is the same then yes, otherwise no.

Yeah, not really advisable. Although, I recently changed motherboard and CPU in my PC and windows 8 booted straight up. I didn't let it hang around long but it seemed to be perfectly functional.

I've found if you stay with the same chipset you can get away with it. Any other case it will fail to boot.

It depends what you mean by the format? The start screen? The actual desktop with background & icons etc?

Sorry, been busy!

Specifically, I'd like to be able to copy the tiles that I have created with OblyTile with custom artwork and file / folder / url locations that I set up.
