Hi guys,

My Dad's just bought an acer revo with windows 7 home premium and it has loads of crap preinstalled on it and a pretty strange partition set up going on; he's got one with a 250gb hd consisting of 2x 100 gb partitions, a hidden partition (presumably for acer recovery?) and the normal 100 mb w7 system partition.

What I'd like to know is, is would it be possible to take him my copy of w7 home premium and reinstall that on his machine, fresh. Would has coa key be valid with my retail copy of windows?

Cheers!

Yer will work fine, I done exactly this when I done a reinstall on a dell, used a HP retail disc, well actually ripped the disc to the hdd with imgburn, then used ei.cfg removal tool, then used microsoft usb tool to put it onto a flash drive, it installs faster and I was able to do a clean windows 7 professional reinstall as removing the ei.cfg file allows you to select which version you want.
