My mum is currently using my car as the boot on mine is bigger than her mini one's. She said that I can use her's to get to work but i'm not sure if i#m actually covered to do so.

It says on my quinn-direct policy documents that "The policyholder, if they have a full EU license, may also drive, with the permission of the owner, any Private Motor Vehicle subject to the terms and conditions of the policy".

So bascically, i'm covered for tpft? Or because the car is worth 10k more than mine, would it be void if I crashed because they'd only issue fully comp insurance?

Thanks

you'll be covered in a third party only sense

you stack it the insurance will pay for everyone else bar you :)

get your mum to add you to her policy if its a pricey car

I'm only using it today but in the future, hopefully if mine sells, i'll go back on her policy.

With me being 18, and it being a semi-prestigous car I have no worries?

'Subject to the Terms and conditions of the policy'

Read the terms and conditions - you may find it has an age clause in it. Also, are you really sure you wish to drive a high value car TPFT? If you crash it, you are stuffed.

Thats what I was thinking. Nowadays you have to also take into account 1 million uninsured drivers and the countless cases of hit and run. Both of those wont be covered with you behind the wheel.

I've driven it before tpft when my car was having some work done on it. I'm only going 5 miles, the bus service is poor, and I can't bike it down the motorway.

"Driving Other Cars:-

3) The use of the vehicle is covered on the certificate of insurance

4)cover is not provided by any other insurance"

Meaning what precisely? I'm allowed to drive it aslong as I am not on the original policy??

On the certificate of motor insurance it says the quote I posted in my opening post.

I'm sure it's alrite.

When I was looking to take out a policy with Quinn-Direct, they told me I could have DOC cover over the phone, and I'm 17.

In the past 24 months my girlfriend has been involved in 2 accidents of which neither were her fault. One went 50-50 and the second went against the other party. Thing is both these accidents happened within a mile from our house.

can you really get DOC at 17? I thought it was 21 and up otherwise I could just go and drive my brothers group 15 car without having to pay extra insurance?

Would be better to get yourself added to your mums policy for a day or however much you need, shouldn't cost very much and you'll be fully covered. Cost me £30 to be added to my mums insurance when my gearbox died and I needed to drive her car.

I'd move then.
