Hi All,

I have a Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD7 X58 motherboard and i currently have 12gb of Corsair DDR3 10666C9 1333MHz XMS3 TwinX Dual 6x2 sticks, which is fine.

i have been mulling over getting 24gb for Zbrush work etc.if my motherboard can accept better like tri or quad channels then great (although i dont think it can).

anyway im not interested in getting the fastest ram ever and overclocking it just some decent stuff to help with work. this is my final upgraded (+ssd + graphic card) for this system before i begin saving for a new machine in 1- 2 years time.:D

so any feed back recommendations welcome, and thanks for you help.

Any idea if you've got the v1 or the v2?

Unfortunately Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit) will only support 16GB of RAM.

For more than that you need the Professional, Enterprise or Ultimate editions (they support up to 192GB).

64 bit Windows 8 supports up to 128GB and the Professional and Enterprise editions 512GB.

oh really, ah well that ends that then might as well save the money for a new machine later. cheers though for everyone's help :)

I was just going to say Windows Anytime Upgrade, but Home Premium to Ultimate seems to be £100+. Meh
