Can I get above 140+ FPS by using the 1080p lowest settings with i5-3470 and GTX 1050?

Probably. I get a solid 70-85 FPS with my R9 270 and I have mostly high settings. 140+ FPS with a 60 Hz screen though? The tearing man, think of the tearing!

I've only played it on Xbox, but I don't see why anything from 60-100fps would be problematic for you to need for whatever reason 140fps?

Why would getting anything over 60 FPS in overwatch be any use when you only have a 60 Hz screen?

Surely it's just wasted as you'll be skipping frames, might as well just stick VSync on and have a consistent 60.

144hz screen ideally and youll need a 970 gtx 980 gtx or 1060 gtx to get the required fps.

on a 60 hz screen as people saying its pretty much not nice experience . youll get tearing rippling down the screen.

Barely, most likely, with frequent drops well below it during team fights. 1050 Ti would have a better chance of not dipping too far.

As the others have said though, what's the point on a 60 Hz screen?

Only if you like horrendous input lag :p

Because it improves the feel from the mouse even on 60hz. Playing on many types including
4K at 60hz 60fps and 100
2560*1440 at 144hz at 143fps
4K at 100 feels much better even if your only seeing 60hz it feels soo much bettee

I play overwatch on my desktop. I use medium and some high and I get a solid 70fps (display limit option instead of v sync) I found it felt better. I played without a cap for a day or two and I had FPS of between 100-140. On low I imagine you will get 140 plus. I can confirm tonight if it's important to you.

Different people are sensitive to different artefacts I guess. I've never felt input lag using VSync but tearing drives me mad. Also, Overwatch has a "reduce buffering" option which I reduces input lag by a frame on average. Of course, even better would be to use FreeSync or GSync and not need triple buffering or VSync (most of the time) at all! :D

Eh, it improves the feel of the mouse on some parts of the screen. Not for my tastes. :(

If you really want to run beyond the monitor's refresh rate you can enable fast sync. This should eliminate tearing and 90% of the input lag you get with traditional vsync, win/win IMO.

Yeah I want to know how much FPS can you get with the 1080p 100% render scale lowest settings.

In the first game I played the FPS fluctuated from 120-200 on the lowest settings. You might get lower (100maybe?) in the middle of a very big firefight.

Sorry to say if you removed the graphic limitation, that your CPU would become what's holding you back. A none overclocked i5 won't be fast enough to hold a solid 100fps in online multiplayer games...whereas for single player games it probably won't be as much of an issue.
