Can i get BT to remove Cap

I think its strange that the ISPs think if you used a lot of data that you must be a pirate, i got asked what i was downloading, to which i replied, no, what if i download adult content all the time, they also asked if i used p2p software, well yes, watched Pioneer One the other day.

:rolleyes:

What the hell are you downloading. I don't know how i'd possibly use 1gb a day. You say steam games but thats a one off thing. Unless you like to uninstall them for fun? YOu must be pirating films and box set series non stop. Thats the only way you could ever get through that much.

:rolleyes::rolleyes:

I'd go with Be. The only ones who don't speed cap.

Wrong. You fail hard 8igdave.

i've been with bt for 5 years paying a stupidly high amount per month (£40 including line rental) they capped me for over use (was beta testing a game that required a fresh download regularly and also dl'd films etc) and since then i have not downloaded but it seems it has carried over as i have been capped for 3 months now and keep getting the emails saying i've gone over the usage (they really shouldnt be allowed to call it unlimited).

Anyway, happy days as i have moved house and gone with O2, bye bye BT scumbags :)

No right now anyway, they soon will...

Allegedly. In practice, an entirely different matter. First of all the DOCSIS 3 platform by nature shouldn't require throttling. Only a tiny fraction of VM customers are currently using it anyway (~70,000). Also, according to VM sources the implementation has been such that VM actually have no way of monitoring usage on the 50 meg platform at the moment even if they wanted to.

As an aside, Sky are another ISP with NO FUP at all. :)

Jesus... people think Virgin is bad for cutting 20meg users down to 5 meg for a few hours... I had no idea BT cut you down to 1meg for a month! That's terrible!
