Can i get by on a GTS ?

go for the gtx if you can, especialy if you intened on running wow at 1080p res. it will handle all those games fine on a normal monitor but at high res you may see the fps drop, hence a gtx maybe a worthwhile investment.

I reckon a 640MB GTS / 512MB 2900XT will do the job (It will for WoW, Sims, C&C3...etc easily), you may wanna look into the GTX for other games, I'm not so sure.

WoW isn't demanding though, I mean any game can be demanding if you put on 16xQAA, 4xAA is more than enough for WoW I thought and that'll run lightning fast at 1080P with everything else maxed, a GTX isn't need for WoW in the slightest, it's very dated. (the game)

you should be able to get by but at that res your going to have to drop settings quite a bit on a 320mb version. (Not on Wow in particular but on more graphically demanding games)

The 320mb gts will be more than enough for those games. The GTX would be complete overkill unless you play really heavy new FPS's.

It's probably better to go for a card with more RAM actually, maybe a 512 1950 as has been said. Purely because of the high res.

For now, the only graphically demanding games will be BF2, and a few older FPS's like FEAR Maybe, although usaully these are played on my games consoles. WOW and RTS are my main priorities.

Should i go for 320MB or 640 ?
There's a review here for the 640 VS 320;

http://www.techreport.com/reviews/2007q1/geforce-8800gts-320mb/index.x?pg=5

That's the page on FEAR, more pages on other games though, the impact in performance between 640/320 is pretty damn small though.

You'll get by fine on either I'd have thought, might wanna take a look at the HD2900XT as I hear they are outperforming the 8800GTS's a bit now, not sure though.

I would like to run Crysis, bioshock i will rpobs leave to my 360. As i said, i don't run too many FPS or anything, most of them are on my games consoles. i do like to play the odd one though.

I don't really know what to do now.

8800 GTS 320MB - £200
8800 GTS 640MB - £265
8800 GTX 768MB - £400

Maybe the 640MB is best VFM there ? I think people over exagerate some games a little. I'm sure i could run crysis on those at a good res, or they wouldn't sell too many would they ?
8800GTS 320MB - £180
8800GTS 640MB - £230
8800GTX 768MB - £322

:p

Yea well some of us like EVGA/BFG ...... :D

EDIT : BFG GTX's on this week only ! £358 for the OC1 !
Well the only difference is the warranty and crappy software you get with them, not really worth the money, I probably won't have this card in a year so that's why I don't mind the 1 year warranty.
