Can I get faster RAM for my notebook?

I have a Dell XPS M1710 which currently has 4GB of Corsair Value select DDR2 5300c5 667 mhz memory in it.

In the Vista performance information and tools window it seems my memory is the thing which is slowing my system down.

If it was a desktop system then I would have a problem in getting some quicker ram and even overclocking it, but with notebooks I'm not sure if it's possible or not to do either.

Any advice appreciated - thanks.

your laptop only supports 667mhz.. tbh that is fast enough for a laptop. ignore the Vista performance information it doesn't give the right readings most of the time. i have gone from 800mhz to 1066mhz i haven't noticed a different tbh.

Damn you Vista!

I originally bought this laptop because I was becoming addicted to overclocking. I spent nearly two grand on my last desktop gaming rig and spent more time tweaking and running 3D Mark etc, to see if I could get higher score, than actually playing games... now vista has this bloody scoring system for your system performance I nearly got dragged in again!!!

Must... resist... unnecessary... tweaking... :p

vista's rating system is pretty dumb......the rating should be based upon amount of ram and not the speed of it which has very little effect in games
