Can I get my old mails back after reinstalling vista?

I have recently had to reinstall vista, and am left with a folder called "windows.old" with all my old programs etc in there.

Would any of my old mails be in there anywhere?

Any help appreciated!

What email program (Outlook, Thunderbird etc...) were you using?

Windows mail, just the one that comes bundled in with Vista

Could you possibly let us know how you did it? As when someone else come accross your problem, and use the search function, the answer will be there

Using (Vista) Windows mail, go to File, import, Messages.

Select the format on the following page then making sure "show hidden or system hiles" is enabled, browse to:

C:\Windows.old\Users\%user%\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows Mail

Selected the folder and hit next.
I was then given the option to import inbox, drafts, deleted, outbox etc etc

Hit next and all the selected were imported to an imported folder in my Windows mail

Hope this helps anyone else
