I'm going to get a couple of chef's knives sharpened, but was thinking of getting my lock knife done too.
I am wondering if the sharpening dude is obliged to grass me up?So it's not legal to carry in public anyway as it's a lock knife, but unless you are waving it arouund and are just going to get it sharpened, who would know anyway.
Seems fair enough. I'm sure any reasonable copper would understand the situation.More info :

So I would say it's ok to carry it in public to be sharpened. Just keep it out of sight![]()
I was more concerned with the shop being obliged to inform on me, but it seems that's not the case. Why would you get stopped in the first place? You must be fairly dodgey looking to worry about completing a simple task
If it were just the chef's knives I wouldn't be concerned, but the law around lock knives seems fuzzy.1)Offer knife sharpening
2)Grass up people who get knives sharpened
3)???
4)???![]()
