Hi,

If I was to get a Windows OS smart phone (eg MDA Vario), is there any software out there that will let me run Skype on it and recieve Skype calls via the smart phone using the Wi-Fi network in my flat?

Alternatively is there any software that will make my phone act as a handset for Skype running on a Winodows PC on the same Wi-Fi network?

(eg when I'm in my flat, the phone hooks into my broadband connection via Wi-Fi and will then recieve / make Skype calls)

Fred

Just installing it on my Vario now. It's made for 312MHz processors though, and the Vario's is 195 or something. From what I've heard, the messaging is fine, but voice (over WiFi) is a bit poor. However I have also heard that it is possible to overclock the Vario's CPU to 240 MHz fairly easily - not got around to that yet ;)

I'll let you know what it's like when it's installed.

Well it's signing in over GPRS - I don't have wifi to test it on, unfortunately. The program itself seems to run OK though, and instant messaging is fine :)

How easy was it to setup MSN messenger on the Vario?

Wifi uses so much battery Id just pay for normal calls and have wifi as an alternative if you run out of credit or cant get a signal.
