a ) Buy a second 8800GTS and SLi
That CPU should clock up to and beyond 3.5GHz if you're lucky, but it's good enough for SLI at 2.8GHz.

But, you forgot: d.) Wait for G92 like I am at the moment, then sell off all your PC and build a new one. :D

where does money come into the equation?

no need to take it like a personal attack

In my old rig i had Sli'd 7800gt's both clocked at 1.20/500 along with a 2.8ghz A64 4000+, 2Gb of ram and gamed at 1600x1200 on a Sony Trinitron 21" CRT. In 3dmark benchies sli gave me massive increases in performance but that is not the real story. When gaming sli allowed me to max out every setting so that it not only played smoothly, it also looked fantastic. Sli is not just about big framerate boosts, it's also about having the extra power to turn every detail up to make the game look good as well. I never had any problems with compatiability either.

If you can afford it and have a rig that can handle it then go for it.

the only problem is with 2 cards, since you are going higher res anyway.. the FPS are still usually under 60 for average, so in reality your still going to get choppy moments.

I still think they should have these cards a bit cheaper, and release even faster ones at the same time so we actually have a choice to choose a faster card over their usual top-end cards. That way its not overkill, because we wouldnt get any slowdown in games.. in fact what is overkill? the faster the better.

only when using AA the performance drops but i don't use AA... AF as no performance drop even at 16x AF...
I still think that's pretty lame, I can't stand no AA, I just need 4x in everything.
