I have checked the bristol city council website and it mentions nothing about it being illegal but does mention legal action?

I have no outdoor heaters so was considering going to homebase and getting some firewood and using that to create a couple of small fires. I will be putting it in an old BBQ base to contain it and have a chicken wire fence around it.

Ive never had a problem with my neighbours doing it, but just make sure you tell them first so they can close their windows!

I'm pretty sure it's fine to burn waste in garden but round this way it's deemed un-reasonable to do it before 6pm as people might have washing out or enjoying some time in the garden with children playing and what not.

What's the purpose of the fire? Just for fun, or you mentioned outdoor heating so is it purely for this? Can't you just buy a woodburner or outdoor heater in that case?

I burnt loads of wood recently. I cut a hole in an old copper boiler and used that as a sort of furnace. You can buy them cast iron woof burners for your garden so I cant see why you wouldn't be allowed to burn wood in your garden.

Then again, in summer it could be a problem as people will have their windows open and won't appreciate smoke entering their bedrooms. Probably wont be a problem if you have a large garden and are a fair distance from other houses.
