Hi guys just wanted some opinions on my security setup on my machine. At the mo i have norton installed but looking to get rid of it as it uses up a lot of cpu i have been looking at zone alarm firewall which i have heard is good, so i was not sure weather to dload the free version of it or my mate has the complete zone alarm sweet with anti virus etc. i also have the free version of avg virus and anti spyware installed but they are both the free versions, if some could give me some advice here id be greatfull.

Second thing i have built my own machine and have been wondering how do i go about restoring the whole machine back to factory settings? was not sure if you could do this with system restore or not.

many thanks

We'll recommend Comodo or Sunbelt Kerio for free firewalls. AVG free AV is OK. Avast and AOL Active Shield are also pretty popular.

As for machine settings, you can format the disk to wipe the Windows settings and you should be able to get the default settings in your BIOS back quite easily. Most BIOS' have a default settings option somewhere.

thanks for the reply mate there is one thing im not sure about.

shall i install the zone alarm security sweet or just the free zone alarm firewall any ideas?

I'd stay away from Zone Alarm full stop. I USED to use it for my firewall. I now use Sunbelt Kerio. Much much better.
