is it all compatable and what would you change?

the speakers i am not gonna keep, i might plug an amp into the sound card and the buy some decent speakers from richer sounds

yeah good spec, but tbh unless you are really into silencing I wouldnt bother with the Dustproof fans, they're uber expensive, get some Sharkoon silent Eagles or Akasa Ambers, much cheaper solution imo :)

also consider a Scythe Ninja for the CPU cooler :)

£1000 for getting into uni? omg thats nice dude, lucky git ;)

Right, I would change quite a few things to give you more for your money. I'll take the budget as around £2000 but leave your peripherals...

CP-128-IN Intel Core 2 DUO E6600 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.40GHz (1066FSB) - Retail (CP-128-IN)
£214.95 £214.95
MB-061-GI Gigabyte GA_965P_DS3 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard (MB-061-GI)
£89.95 £89.95

Good motherboard with great overclocking potential when coupled with the right RAM and cooler

MY-058-GL GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC6400 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 Dual Channel Kit (GX22GB6400UDC) (MY-058-GL)
£124.95 £124.95

Top notch RAM will be great with the motherboard and should overclock very nicely

GX-047-CO Connect3D ATI Radeon X1900 XT 512MB GDDR3 AVIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (3056) (GX-047-CO)
£179.95 £179.95

These seem to run much better than the 7900's in reviews and offer much better performance to price ratio

CA-024-EN Enermax Liberty 620W ELT620AWT ATX2.2 Modular SLI Compliant PSU (CA-024-EN)
£87.95 £87.95

Personal preference really, I have one in my machine and it's rock solid. If you like the seasonic better though go for that

CA-069-LL Lian-Li PC-S80B Black Aluminium Full Tower Case (CA-069-LL)
£148.95 £148.95

No experience of it but looks a very nice case. Anything from Lian-Li should be very good though

CD-030-NE NEC ND4570 16x16 DVD±RW Dual Layer ReWriter (Black) - OEM (CD-030-NE)
£21.95 £21.95

NEC make great writers and they seem to do very well in reviews

HS-003-SY Scythe Ninja Plus Heatpipe CPU Cooler (Socket 478, 754, 939, 940, LGA755) (HS-003-SY)
£31.95 £31.95

£107.95 £107.95

Supposed to be excellent drives and nearly match Raptor performance. Although I've used samsung for a very long time now, opinions on these seem to be very high

CP-128-IN Intel Core 2 DUO E6600 "LGA775 Conroe" 2.40GHz (1066FSB) - Retail (CP-128-IN)

Good choice.

MB-010-IN Intel Extreme D975bx-304 975X (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2 Motherboard (MB-010-IN)

Again good choice but I've heard DS3/DS4 are also good clockers

MY-108-CS Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2-6400C4 TwinX (2x1GB) (MY-108-CS)
£141.95 £141.95

Change this to 2GB Geil Ultra Low latency.

GX-008-EA EVGA GeForce 7900 GTX 512MB GDDR3 HDTV-Out/Dual DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-008-EA)

I'd personally get an 1900XT-X or 1900XT as they are both cheaper and not much difference between performance.

HD-033-SA Samsung SpinPoint T HD400LJ 400GB SATA-II 8MB Cache - OEM (HD-033-SA)

I'd get Seagate Barrucudas instead. And also I'd personally buy 2x250GB instead as its cheaper and easier to backup imo but its up to you really.

CD-030-NE NEC ND4570 16x16 DVD±RW Dual Layer ReWriter (Black) - OEM (CD-030-NE)

No problem there good choice.

HS-020-ZA Zalman CNPS9500-AT Aero Flower (Socket 775) CPU Cooler (HS-020-ZA)

Not sure about this but I've heard there are better such as the artic freezer or my might even want to get a Sythe Ninja Plus or something.

SC-034-CL Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Music - Retail (SC-034-CL)

Nothing wrong with this really.

CA-002-SS Seasonic S12 600W Silent ATX2.0 Power Supply (CA-002-SS)

Good choice.

CA-069-LL Lian-Li PC-S80B Black Aluminium Full Tower Case (CA-069-LL)

Bit expensive and I think Yewen said its not all what it lived up to be and there are better. Go for a cheaper route imo.

FG-005-AF AcoustiFan DustProof Quiet 120mm Fan - 3 pin (FG-005-AF)

Too expensive. Get ambers instead.

FG-003-AF AcoustiFan DustProof Quiet 80mm Fan - 3 pin (FG-003-AF)

Too expensive. Get ambers instead.

KB-060-LG Logitech MX518 Gaming-Grade Optical Mouse (KB-060-LG)

Good choice.

KB-054-MS Microsoft Comfort Curve 2000 Keyboard (KB-054-MS)

If that's your style keyboard thats fine but with the money we have saved up there you might want to get the G15.

MO-060-VS Viewsonic VX2235wm 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Black (MO-060-VS)

No problem with that.

SP-034-LG Logitech Z-5450 THX® Certified 5.1 315 Watts Wireless Speakers - Retail (SP-034-LG)

Don't really know about speakers so cannot comment on that really.
