Can I have some opionions on this please...

My dad has to have an operation in a few months, as a result he will not be allowed to drive for one year.

He currently drives a 08 2l Mazda 6 TS, My mother a 1.1 Hyundi Gets and I have a 56 Mk5 1.6 Golf.

He has said that I can have the Mazda, then I will give the golf to my mother and they will sell her car.

Or if I don't want it, they will sell both their cars and get something focus/golf size for my mother to drive.

Them keeping the Mazda isn't an option, because my mother won't drive it.

I'm pretty sure I don't want the Mazda, but I thought I would get some other people's opinions.

So what do you think?

If you dont want it then dont keep it. However drive it and you will find out.

What's wrong with an almost brand new Mazda 6?

It's a good car. Refined, comfortable, decent to drive, looks good and will have a lot more zip than your 1.6 Golf.

IMO there is nothing wrong with the Mazda, but then again my car isn't that old. So apart from it being a bit faster, I don't see that much benefit.

I get the train to work, so my car just sits on the drive all week.

I've been considering changing my car, but wasn't considering a Mazda 6.

I quite like the mazda 6. It's not too interesting to drive, but they have a decent spec, and it's not 'boring'. I would say it was almost as fun as a Golf, and quicker too.

Why dont you give/sell your parents your Golf, sell both the Mazda and the Hyundai and use the proceeds to buy something that suits your needs a bit better? If you only use it at weekends you could buy something cheaper/more fun

That's another option that my dad mentioned, he's not that bothered what happens with his car.

I'll have a look at what I fancy, I've got a month or so yet!
