Can I install win7 now?

I have MSDN through work, although I don't know much about how licenses work through it. I have pre-ordered Windows 7 - does this mean I can install Windows 7 from MSDN (RTM) now and then simply re-enter my retail key when it arrives or would that require a re-install? If a re-install is needed I may as well wait.

As long as you install the same edition you ordered you'll be able to activate it when your key arrives. Windows gives you 30 days to do this, or 90 days if you keep rearming it.

Similar situation in that my current XP build is doing weird things, but it's either stick it out and wait till 22nd or reinstall XP now, I'm gonna wait
BUT, do you think everyone is going to get their Win7 sent out on the 22nd, or do you think they are going to be in batches and most people may only get this week or weeks later ?

I installed win7 pro, which I downloaded from MSDN AA, but was disappointed because windows mail was missing and it didn't have a driver for my hp laser jet printer.
Windows Live Mail as it's now called is part of Windows Live Essentials, it's an optional Windows Update. Try a Vista driver for your printer.

other than logistics glitches I can't see people who preordered waiting weeks for their discs to arrive. Not much raw materials involved and lots of facilities to produce the discs.

If the RTM is available now then I'd expect the retail discs to be stacking up in warehouses as we speak. I expect many purchasers will recieve there copy on release day as bigger partners will surely recieve their stock a few days in advance.
