Can I keep my stuff on 2nd drive when I install win 7?

Hi peeps,

I have my documents folders set on my D: drive and Vista on C:. When I install Windows 7, can I point it at the folders on D: for my doc, pics, ect?

I installed win 7 on C drive and it now finds all the stuff on D, E, F and G as it was there before

At least I wont need to back them up and format that drive too.

If its just data then yeah of course! just as if you had an external drive. If you've instaled apps to the second drive they probably wont work as the registry settings will be removed when you install windows.

Can the appdata folder be moved to D: so I can keep program settings/saved games that are stored there?

Yes, but you'd need to mess about with the registry and tell Windows where your user folder is:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders

Why didn't they just let you set the target folder like you can for pictures, videos, favorites ect LOL
