Ok we have a wireless network set up that is constantly slow. We're meant to be on 20mb virgin cable. Which is up and down but mainly slow. My housemates go on limewire etc which drain the bandwith for me when I wanna go online or play a few games. Can I block limewire so that they can't get on it.

Using a Linksys WRT54G. I would talk to them but they wouldn't take it light hearted and would just cause more trouble than its worth. So OCUK can you help me out?

You're concerned that talking about it would cause more trouble than it's worth? Yet you wish to secretly disable their access to programs as a more equitable solution?

If it was me, I'd get better housemates.

As to the problem, you could possibly port block limewire, but only if it doesn't use the same port as everything else...

go to http://192.168.1.1/Filters.asp and create a new profile that blocks all PC's or selected pcs during certain times on certain days. Then when you are gaming just enable this profile, when you have finished gaming just disable it again. Just say the net must have gone really slow whilst your are gaming. ;)

or goto http://192.168.1.1/Port_Services.asp and block the limewire port. Sometimes limewire selects ramdom ports to you may need to select a wide range of ports.

Apparently the default limewire port is 6346
