Can I locally run AI and if do what can I do with it?

I've used chatgpt online. Ask it a question it gives an answer etc. Doesn't do images.

Reading about this new Chinese AI this morning - Deepseek.

Can I install AI locally on my PC and run it? Is it easy to use like the online versions? Do they have easy user interfaces?

Any tips appreciated.

Actually its been useful helping with my part time uni course. But chatgpt has limited use in the free version so I was wondering if I run my own.

I don't want to train my own models or anything like that - just run a free version of an AI basically where all the data is already there.


Dont want something that has to be run from some sort of terminal.

LM Studio is your friend. You can download a whole load of different LLMs mainly hosted on huggingface
