I disabled EPP so I could I use manual DRAM voltage for overclocking my CPU, as EPP auto voltage was conflicting. But I wanted to keep my timings I had with EPP of 4-4-4-12.
I enabled EPP again, went to DRAM settings and it showed all the settings EPP uses, 4-4-4-12 plus a bunch of other timings. I then disabled EPP again, looked at DRAM settings again, and it still kept the EPP settings. Means I didn't have to change them one by one, it was already done. Then I went to DRAM voltage and increased it to 2.120v as that's what EPP voltage was.
I got some network problem later on where I was getting connection interrupts, and then couldn't connect to the web or msn until rebooting. This made me wonder if it was to do with my DRAM settings after looking in event viewer where I noticed a 0x79 error. I've now cleared my timings back to default for my ram. I've yet to test it, but I suspect my idea of using EPP timings manually might be the culprit.
Are EPP timings only to be used with EPP enabled? I thought EPP just auto set the fastest timings for me, but that the same timings could be used manually since the ram is capable. But maybe EPP enabled has something else to allow those timings, without which I have to use default timings. Would that be the case?
