Can I move my steam account?

Hey up all.

Ive made a very poor choice when setting up my steam account and its been installed on my SSD. Now its starting to take up lots of space grrr!!

Can I simply just cut and copy it to my velociraptor raid array?

Sorry for the question its just im sure ive read somewhere you cant do it!

Pretty much. If you install Steam to the raptor and then copy the contents of the SSD on top it should work and fix itself where there is something wrong. (Best just to get the game files rather than absolutely everything... at work atm so can't remember exact locations, will look when home)

So i can copy all my steam program files from my Laptop to my new desktop and it'll work?

I guess in theory if you follow the above link it could work so long as you had something large enough to hold all your steamapps files in the migration. Im sure somebody will point out if im wrong here

i got a 1tb external, which is soon to become my internal.

I'll copy em all onto a partition or something

I got like 60gb of steam stuff

If making a backup of your Steam account .... just copy the 2 files in the first link above to your back up device. I keep a copy of it on a old external drive. More than once I have used this back up to restore my steam account quickly just by coping and pasting it back into a drive in my rig.
