I've run into a fun little situation after buying a new monitor that is a little confusing to explain..
My previous setup was a Amp and 1080p monitor all connected via HDMI (PC -> Amp -> TV) that allowed me to get 7.1 Sound and video out. Everything was fine.
My new monitor only works via Dual-DVI connection so I no-longer need the TV but this has created a new problem in that if I switch the TV off my OS (Windows 7) no-longer sees the HDMI link and disables the audio output.
I guess the bottom line is, Im trying to get my GPU setup in a way that it will output Video over the Dual-DVI link, but also output audio only via the HDMI port as well.
Is this possible?
