Can i over clock a Q9550 on this mobo?

Here is a link to my mobo which im currently using to overclock a e2220 to 3ghz im considering fitting a q9550 but im not sure if i will be able to overclock because it already has a high fsb

The cpu is listed in the compatible list of cpus but will i be able to overclock it?

I think it would, says Core 2 quad so yeah, should do however look at the CPU compbatiblity before biting the bulliet as for Oc, might be struggling, as the board was not build for that sort of thing.

Make sure you have at least bios version F7 before removing the old cpu. I doubt that you will get much out of it though. If i remember right there are very few options on that board. Only a 4 pin cpu plug as well.

The Q9550 is a stupid price these days even second hand. Unless you are being given one or getting it dirt cheap it would be a lot of money to spend on a dead socket. A Q6600 might be a better investment.
