Hi, i recently moved my hp pro 3300mt motherboard,4gb ram etc to a new gaming case with extra fans and i want to try and overclock the cpu if possible. I'm new to gaming and this is my 1st gaming case so i really need advice on what i can and cannot do to improve things. Any advice or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks . alcatron.

You cant overclock with that CPU I'm afraid, and even if you could, your motherboard wouldn't support overclocking anyway :(

you can set it to run max turbo on all cores, so 3.3Ghz and all 4 cores. that is about a 5-10% gain on 4 threaded applications. but thats all

Thanks guys for quick response. I am only using this cpu until i can buy a decent motherboard, cpu etc. I tried to look at the ufei utility in the set up menu but it wont run for some reason. Theres nothing in the bios to point to any options to change clock speeds or anything. Is it best that i just leave it as is or is it worth trying to set the turbo mode?
Also, am i right in thinking the best option to speed things up would be to install an ssd to the pc?

yes going from a spinning disc to an SSD is a very big difference in fell and performance.
it will noy however make the pc play games any better because the limiting factor would still be the cpu.

How ever this said i gamed on a i5 4400 for about 12 months and found it to be fine at 1080 ress in all games. you cpu been the s model means its 0.1Ghz slower so it should pay game ok still
