I'm looking for a bit of a boost to my 2 year old pre-built system. The spec is
Q6600 @ 2.4GHz with the retail cooler fitted
Biostar GF7050V-M7
8800GTS 320Mb
2GB PC2-5300
Here's the tricky bit. The system fits into a built in desk/unit with about 25mm clearance on each side and about 200mm on top. Speedfan is reporting
GPU 63C
Core 0 52C
Core 1 54C
Core 2 51C
Core 3 50C
I'm guessing that those temps are way too high to start off with. Moving the case out of the unit is a non-starter I'm afraid (single men look bemused whilst married men know exactly what I'm talking about). What do you reckon? Is an aftermarket cooler going to have enough impact?
If I'm not overclocking I was looking at the graphics card. I game at 1680 x 1050 (max on my monitor). I was thinking of a 5770.
