Hi all,

I'm looking to get a couple of these printed: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:6794005

I need to confirm later whether I need to 6.7mm or 7mm version printed.

They're haptic mounts for sim racing pedals. I've found some on Etsy but with postage from the US it's £40 all in. I've tried some quotes on 3D printing websites and they were extortionate.

Anyone here able to tell me how much they'd charge me to print and post two of these to me? Or I can pick them up if you're anywhere around West Kent area.

THANKS :)

Edit: Pretty sure it's the 7mm I need.

I'll give it a crack tonight, the machines I use might not be accurate enough though but I'm happy to try.

DW about cost.....it's my works stuff lol.

Oh wow, that's amazing, thank you :)

If they both come out alright just let me know and I'll send you some cash to cover the cost of postage and your time. Thank you so much.

I'm at work mate, it's no problem at all.

I'll give them a go tonight and update you tomorrow, I think they will take about 4 hours and about 80g of material if I print them solid so it's almost no cost really.

They may turn out crap so don't get your hopes too high lol. I'm more into CNC work than 3d printing so they are more like sort of functional toys at work, we do make a few parts but accuracy isn't too important for what we use them for.

The author of the design quotes 20% infill. You can likely dramatically reduce the print time if you go for infill at a similar (or slightly higher) %.

If you get stuck hit me up. I've only got orange and white PLA out at the moment though :D

I tried 20% and it saved some material but not a lot of time so I thought I'd just go for strength and do it solid, it was like 20-30 mins or something total.

Printing two now, I guess I should have printed one now to see what it was like.....foresight is not my strong point. I've just started printing a single one, just over two hours to go so I will at least see one before I leave tonight.

First print off, needs the undercut parts cleaned out but it looks ok, the nut size is more like 7.1/7.2mm, is that ok?

Legend, thank you mate. Honestly I have no idea, I'm assuming whatever the size is I can use some washers if I need to if things don't fit. When they're done I'll PM you and get your PayPal so I can send you some beer money/postage money :) I really appreciate it.

The 7mm relates to the size of the gap where I guess a nut sits in, this would be the AF size so I wouldn't imagine 0.1/0.2 would make much difference.

Honestly it's absolutely no hassle at all, I have 4 of them printed now, I'll do a bit of removing the supports and tidying today and get them posted out with tonight's post. You can try them, if they don't work then we can go from there and modify the bits that are tight/slack until it's what you need, I hope these will do the trick though.

Please PM your address and I'll get them out tonight. I'll try to remember to drop in a few of M4x20 Countersunk bolts too, the designer says you need some of those.
